Nikii Montorio

I am a Military Brat and I was born in Okinawa, Japan. I've had company since before I was born, and my twin sister is my absolute best friend despite the geographic distance between us currently. We called Okinawa home for a total of six years (with a four year stint at Bentwaters AFB in England sandwiched in there) before landing in Alamogordo for the first time back in 1996. As is customary with the Military lifestyle, we moved after just four years here, landing briefly in Virginia for two years before settling in San Antonio, TX after my Dad's retirement from the Air Force.

I met my husband as a teen when I lived here initially, but only in passing.  Thanks to the technology that we all know and love as "the internet" we got reacquainted with each other in 2011, and have been together since then.  We lived briefly in Ruidoso after we started dating, but then ended up back in San Antonio together. After starting our family there and witnessing the explosive growth of the city after COVID, we uprooted our family at the end of 2021 to move back to the Land of Enchantment.

Some people think we're crazy leaving the big city full of "conveniences" for little ol' Alamogordo, but we love being close to the National Forest. Land up in the mountains is our goal, but for now we don't mind a thirty-minute drive... Nature is our calm, our home, and our hobby and interest. My husband and I both are creatively inclined, and nature fuels that fire.  Our children seem to have followed suit, because they love hiking, camping, and creating as much as we do. We also love mountain biking, and just trying to stay active as a family.

I recently re-enrolled in college, and I'm enjoying pursing my Graphic Design degree at NMSU on the hill.
